CBI books 16 persons over social media posts targeting Judges of Supreme Court and AP High Court

A direction was made by the Division Bench of the Andhra Pradesh High Court, ordering CBI inquiry into cases registered for defamatory remarks against Judiciary by YSRCP. The High Court directed CBI to take over the probe into the alleged derogatory comments made by the ruling YSR congress leaders on social media against some judges and against the judiciary as an entity.

The Central Agency recently combined 12 cases which are being investigated by State Crime Investigation Department in nature of similar allegations and the modus operandi. The key personnel who were occupying posts of prominence in the State made interviews, posts, speeches, attributing motives caste and corrupt allegations to the judges of the Supreme Court and High Court in delivering orders and judgements. It was also alleged that some posts were abusive, life threatening and intimidating. The Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Jagan Mohan Reddy wrote letter to Chief Justice of India alleging certain judge of High Court were biased towards the main opposition party in State, the Telugu Desom Party.

Two petition were filed in Supreme Court against Reddy for making false, vague and scandalizing remarks and political allegation openly in public and Media. The judges are the ones who leads the person which comes in court to seeks justice by analyzing the facts and circumstances and gives the judgments according to the procedure established by law. It sees that no one should be deprived of justice.
