Kejriwal kept under house arrest, #BJPhousearrest trends on Twitter

Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal has been put under house arrest for meeting with protesting farmers at Singhu Border earlier in the week. These protests are related to the central government’s new farm laws. They are protesting against the farm bill passed in September.

The Aam Aadmi Party spokesperson has alleged that their party members and MLA’s were not allowed to meet the CM after house arrest. The members of AAP party have claimed that Kejriwal’s residence has been completely barricaded by the police and party members were not allowed to enter. All official meetings have been canceled.

Police have denied all such allegations by AAP. “There has been no house arrest made by Delhi Police.” Claimed Delhi Police Deputy Commissioner for North District, Anto Alphonse.

Kejriwal met with the farmers at the Singhu border between Delhi and Haryana where he showed his support to the ‘Bharat Band’ farmer protesters. He also said that he would have given them full support as ‘Sevadaar’ if he was allowed free movement. Police have rejected these statements and have said that Kejriwal has been allowed free movement based upon the law of the land.

Manish Sisodia, Deputy CM of Delhi has alleged that Delhi’s CM is being maltreated by the police on Union government’s order.

An unlikely twitter fight has ensued between Delhi’s police and AAP party members. On Twitter, the AAP members have claimed house arrest. Meanwhile, the DCP of the Delhi police has rejected all claims by showing the picture of the CM’s house entrance gate which was empty and without any police barricades.

‘BJP House Arrest’ has become a popular hashtag on Twitter after this event unfolded drastically. AAP party has tweeted that many of its member who took part in the farmer’s protest has been ‘dragged’ and ‘arrested’ by the police and the CM himself has been kept under house arrest.

Even Delhi Police has joined this twitter fight and has claimed these allegations as ‘baseless’ and ‘false’.
